Privacy Policy

Last updated: 26 October 2026

This policy explains what personal information we collect through this website and when you contact us, how we use it, and your rights. We have written it in plain English. If anything is unclear, please contact us.

1. Who we are

This website, goldengatecoir.com, is run by Gethsemane Ltd, trading as Golden Gate Coir (“we”, “us”, “our”). We are the data controller for the personal information described in this policy.

2. The information we collect

  • When you use our contact form: your name, email address, phone number and the message you send us.
  • When you email or phone us: your contact details and anything you choose to tell us.
  • When you buy from us or do business with us: business contact details, delivery and invoicing details, and records of orders and correspondence.
  • Technical information: like most websites, the servers that host our site automatically record basic technical information, such as your IP address, browser type and the pages requested. This is used to keep the website running and secure.

We do not use analytics or advertising tracking on this website.

3. How we use your information and why we are allowed to

  • To answer your enquiry and send you quotes: because you have asked us to (taking steps before entering into a contract) and our legitimate interest in responding to business enquiries.
  • To supply products and manage our relationship with you: to perform our contract with you.
  • To keep accounting and tax records: to meet our legal obligations.
  • To keep our website and systems secure: our legitimate interest in protecting our business.

We will not sell your information. We will only send you marketing emails if you have agreed to receive them, or if you are an existing business customer, and you can opt out at any time by replying to any email or contacting us.

4. Who we share your information with

We only share your information where we need to, with:

  • Service providers who help us run our business, such as our website host (IONOS) and our email provider (Microsoft 365). They act on our instructions and must keep your information secure.
  • Logistics and shipping partners, when we need to deliver goods to you.
  • Our production and export teams overseas, where this is needed to prepare and ship your order.
  • Authorities, where the law requires us to.

If your information is transferred outside the UK, we will make sure it is protected in the way UK data protection law requires, for example by using contract terms approved for that purpose.

5. Content from other websites

  • Google Fonts: our pages load fonts from Google. To do this your browser connects to Google, which receives your IP address.
  • Google Maps: the map on our Contact page is provided by Google. Google may set cookies and collect information when the map loads.
  • Cloudflare Turnstile: our contact form uses Cloudflare Turnstile to check that messages are sent by people rather than automated programs. Cloudflare processes information such as your IP address and browser details for this purpose.
  • Social media: our pages link to our Facebook, Instagram and X accounts, and our Social Media page shows posts from our Instagram account. If you follow these links, the privacy policies of those websites apply.

6. Cookies

Our website does not use analytics or advertising cookies. Simply visiting our pages does not set any cookies from us. Cookies may be set when you use certain features, for example a shopping basket, and by Google when the map on our Contact page loads. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings.

7. How long we keep your information

  • Enquiries that do not lead to business: up to 2 years from our last contact with you.
  • Customer and order records: 6 years from the end of the financial year they relate to, as required for tax and accounting purposes.

8. Your rights

Under UK data protection law you have the right to:

  • ask for a copy of the information we hold about you;
  • ask us to correct information that is wrong or incomplete;
  • ask us to delete your information;
  • ask us to restrict how we use your information, or object to how we use it;
  • ask us to transfer your information to another organisation;
  • withdraw your consent at any time, where we rely on consent.

To use any of these rights, email sales@gethsemaneltd.co.uk. There is normally no charge, and we will reply within one month.

9. How to complain

If you are unhappy with how we have handled your information, please contact us first so we can try to put it right. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO), the UK’s data protection regulator: ico.org.uk/make-a-complaint, or call 0303 123 1113.

10. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. The latest version will always be on this page, with the date it was last updated at the top.
